One of the things I really dislike in reading feeds or getting email updates is when the author insists on only sending out a summary of the article and never the entire article.
The objective for doing so is to (of course) get the reader to come to the website to read, perhaps comment and perhaps click on an ad or other such behaviour.
Unless the person is one I *really* want to read, I tend to unsubscribe from his/her posts/mailing list.
And then this morning, I realize I was doing the exact same thing. A “Duh!” Facepalm moment over my first cup of coffee. I note having these little realizations that early in the morning is never a good thing but does tend to result in almost instant rectification.
Herewith the first of the full feeds.
I’m not asking you to click on an ad (there are none on this site).
And my job is to make the content interesting enough to make you want to engage in some way (make a comment etc) on the site.
But if you decide to do neither and simply chose to read, that’s good enough for me. In fact, it’s more than good enough. I’m delighted you’d give me your attention.
Thanks for reading. From now on, each post will come in full. Delivered into your inbox in a way that makes sense for you.
UPDATE: Good grief. This went out and it too was truncated in the email version (but not the feed version) Had to go into the guts of the mailing system and change some underlying code in the mailing. So if you’re tempted to chuckle and ask me why this was shortened – that’s why. It “should” be fixed now. We’ll see.
Second Update. Good grief again. I got half of the code right and now will go after the second half.
Third Update – Beyond “good grief” but I got it. One silly line in the code – changed. Done and done.
Say Goodnight Dick…
