It’s about the story, it’s all about the story and has always been about the story.
The stories we tell ourselves determine how
We hear the stories of others which reinforces
The stories of friends tell us because
We don’t listen to stories told by those with disagree with even though
They believe their stories are as true as
We believe our stories are true.
It’s not how you change minds, it’s about how you change stories.
Hint: Facts don’t change stories we believe in because a fact, any fact, acts as a pebble in the large pond of our personal truth and story. Merest ripples.
It’s about the stories and the storytellers.
Has been since we lit our first fire, sitting around in caves at night, and I see no reason for it to change because we discovered how to light electrons up.
We tell our story with every word we utter, we craft our stories in the flow of conversations and those of us who would write craft our stories every time we sit down in front of a keyboard. Those who paint or play craft their stories in another language, but a story it remains.
Every word we write is part of our story. I do think it behooves us to learn what a story really is. As the world loses its sense of rational thinking because of one kind of story, it is even more important to develop other stories hoping they will insert themselves in the cracks of availability.
